SmartFeed is a portable, self-contained, easy to use system that measures individual total daily feed intake.
Used for measuring individual feed intake/efficiency, the SmartFeed units are easy to install with virtually no changes required in pen infrastructure and no additional investments required for on farm IT/computer/software.
Product Overview
The SmartFeed system integrates the best RFID, load cell and feed bin technology to continuously log data to determine the feed intake per visit per animal, ultimately allowing you to make informed decisions regarding the feed efficiency of your herd's genetics.
The system is modular, portable, and easy to install. Add additional SmartFeed units to your existing system at any time or move units to different locations easily. The only external wire is for AC power with options to power with solar for completely wireless and portable applications.
Each SmartFeed unit transmits data independently, using either a Wi-Fi or cellular network, to a cloud-based server, and is accessible in real-time from your desktop or smart device. In the event a connection is lost, the data will be stored on the unit until the connection is re-stored, or alternatively is retrieved with a USB connection.
SmartFeed can alert the user when specific animals have either low feed consumption, or do not visit after a certain time period so that problems with individual animals can be addressed quickly.

- Self-Contained, Plug and Play Design:
SmartFeed can be easily moved and wirelessly networked. Exceptionally easy setup, plug in power source and you're ready!
- Digital Readout:
Each SmartFeed is equipped with its own digital readout to enable direct monitoring of feed weights during filling.
- State-Of-The-Art RFID Reader:
SmartFeed can be operated in “noisy” RFID environments. Standard units will have a left or right ear tag scanner depending on the client's preference. Or choose to add both for an additional cost.
- Data Management/Connectivity:
All data, including raw and processed data is accessible in a secure archive with an easy to use online interface. Data transmitted wirelessly with Wi-Fi or cellular network.
- Minimal Infrastructure Changes or Investments:
SmartFeed bunks can be used virtually anywhere you currently feed cattle. Their self-contained design enables them to easily be installed in an existing pen fence line. No additional computers, wiring networks or elaborate facilities are required.

Online User Interface: Each SmartFeed can be controlled by our easy to use online interface. There is no extra software to purchase or to load onto resident computers. Updates require no user-inputs. Service and Maintenance Contract
- Customer Portal Access – Access to real time raw and processed data via C-Lock’s cloud-based customer portal.
- Software Updates – Includes Updates to online software and customer portal capabilities, from time to time.
- Support – A support line to contact C-Lock for technical questions or to report problems.
- Data access – Access to processed and raw data via download or via customer portal.
- Ongoing Monitoring and Protocol Design Assistance.
- Repairs. C-Lock will cover parts and repair of Hardware that has failed due to normal wear and tear outside the applicable warranty period
All units are sold with annual service and maintenance contract. Multiple year contracts are available.
