GreenFeed-Milking Robot

C-lock has developed a system and extensively tested a GreenFeed system retrofitted to measure gaseous emissions from the feed trough of milking robots. The advantage of the milk robot system is large numbers of animal emissions can be passively measured without extra animal training or disruption to the animal's normal routine. The gas emissions data is logged and automatically processed so the user can easily access a summarized report of measured fluxes though the online interface.

 

Description

The GreenFeed-AMS system includes a RFID reader, gas measurement equipment, software, head sensor, body position sensor, data acquisition platform, online interface, and algorithms that convert raw data to meaningful fluxes. The standard gasses measured are CH4, CO2, and optionally O2, H2, and H2. There are also several options available, such as auto calibration.

A gas collection manifold is mounted into the feed trough of the milking robot. The manifold does not interfere with normal use of the robot. The air fan pulls air from the manifold around the cow’s nose into the air collection pipe and externally mounted sensor platform for measurement of emitted gasses. Additional sensors such as head position and body position are installed into the robot to determine when animals are using the robot and when the head is inside the manifold for suitable data collection.

The initial price includes a 1-year warranty, service, and monitoring contract. It also includes several hours of engineering consulting time to ensure the correct modifications and integration is possible between unique systems. There are several options listed below to help the user configure the system to their needs.
